SHORELINE – A project to update and improve the safety of 24 guardrails and barriers across King, Snohomish and Whatcom counties begins mid-March, adding energy-absorbing features to reduce the impacts of crashes.
ISSAQUAH – People who use State Route 18 between Snoqualmie Pass and south King County will want to plan for alternative routes and extra travel time Friday, Dec. 15. Beginning at 4 a.m. until 2 p.m., the highway will close from Interstate 90 to Issaquah-Hobart Road Southeast for emergency asphalt repairs
During the closure, Washington State Department of Transportation maintenance crews will remove and repave damaged asphalt.
BELLEVUE – A long-term shift of the eastbound Interstate 90 lanes in Bellevue begins later this month, marking the onset of major construction for the nearly 3.5-year I-90 Sunset Creek fish passage project.
Beginning at 4 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 23, the eastbound lanes will jog to the left and into the newly paved median between the I-405 interchange and 148th Avenue Southeast. Travelers will also encounter a rolling slowdown between 12:01 and 4 a.m. while crews paint new lines on the freeway.
SNOQUALMIE – Construction along State Route 18 near Tiger Mountain has slowed traffic through the area since it began. With temporary speed limit reductions on the way next week, travelers should plan now for a little additional time for their trips through the end of next year.
SEATTLE – With projects affecting all of the region’s major freeways this summer – as well as many projects on smaller state highways – people need to plan ahead for travel, whether it’s the everyday commute or the big summer road trip.

SNOQUALMIE PASS – Cross-state travelers who use Interstate 90 will need to add extra travel time to their trips now through fall due to several road-improvement projects.
