Audit

The Internal Audit Office helps the department accomplish its objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, internal control, and adherence to laws, rules, regulations, and agency policies.

We offer a variety of services including internal audits; audits of agreements and contracts with external service providers such as consultants, railroads and utilities; investigations of inappropriate governmental activity; and guidance on Washington State ethics laws.
