In some cases, you may qualify for an aviation exemption. Submit the exemption form to waive your annual aircraft registration fee.

An aircraft is exempt from registration if it meets conditions addressed in RCW 47.68.250

Check the condition that applies to your aircraft, supply any additional details and provide your full legal name to serve as your signature.

Exemptions

An aircraft based within the state that is in an unairworthy condition and is not operated within the registration period (calendar year).

UAS is considered unairworthy when unsafe to fly or unserviceable, not including in-storage/shipment configuration or undergoing routine maintenance.

An aircraft which is owned by a nonresident and registered in another state, if the aircraft remains in the state or is based in this state, or both for a period less than ninety days.

An aircraft owned by a commercial manufacturer while being operated for test or experimental purposes, or for the purpose of training crews for purchasers of the aircraft.

An aircraft being held for sale, exchange, delivery, test, or demonstration purposes, solely as stock in trade of a Washington State Aircraft Dealer Licensed under Title 14 RCW.
