Washington Transportation Plan

The Washington Transportation Plan (WTP) is the state's long-range transportation plan, based on the Legislature's six policy goals. This 20-year vision for improving the state's transportation network is completed in two parts: policy and implementation.

Washington Transportation Plan 2035 – Phase 1 (Policy) (PDF) provides the statewide policy recommendations to the Legislature. It was completed by the Washington State Transportation Commission (WSTC).

Washington Transportation Plan Phase 2 – Implementation 2017-2040 (PDF) applies key policy recommendations to further develop the state’s complex transportation system through four focus areas and eleven action items. This plan replaces the 2007-2026 long range transportation plan.
