Roadway data

This information defines how a route should perform in serving the flow of traffic through a highway network. It is the grouping of highways, roads and streets by the character of service they provide and was developed for transportation planning purposes.

The Highway performance monitoring system (HPMS) is a national level highway information system which includes extent, condition, performance, use and operating characteristic data for public roadways nationwide.

The National Highway System includes the Interstate Highway System as well as other roads important to the nation's economy, defense and mobility.
