Additional cleaning measures and supply restocking
As state and national efforts to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 continue, the Washington State Department of Transportation is implementing additional precautions by more frequently disinfecting restroom touch points and restocking supplies. All of the state’s 47 safety rest areas remain open (except for normal seasonal closures of Forest Learning Center and Blue Lake).
Temporary suspention of the Free Coffee program
Additionally, the agency is temporarily suspending the Free Coffee Volunteer Program at all 37 participating rest areas throughout the state, beginning on Monday, March 16, until further notice. This is a continuation of efforts to slow the spread of the virus through social distancing, minimizing touch points and limiting close personal contact.
All rest areas have ADA accessible restroom stalls or restrooms. Rest areas are open 24 hours and 7 days a week unless specified.
