103-year-old SR 165 Carbon River/Fairfax Bridge permanently closed

CARBONADO – The State Route 165 Carbon River/Fairfax Bridge is permanently closed south of Carbonado in Pierce County due to deterioration of steel supports across the bridge. A planning study is underway to evaluate next steps to address the bridge condition.

Portion of Steilacoom-DuPont Road to close first weekend in May for roundabout construction

DUPONT – A busy section of Steilacoom-DuPont Road near Barksdale Station in DuPont will be unavailable to travelers for a weekend in early May. The closure allows crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation to connect a new roundabout to Steilacoom-DuPont Road.
