What to expect

This project will construct two parallel bridges from Alki Avenue to Mission Avenue. Construction also includes some work on the City of Spokane streets and a five-legged roundabout with legs to the NSC ramps, Trent Avenue eastbound and westbound, and Cataldo Avenue. Syndicate Boulevard and Ralph Street will be realigned and repaved. The work also involves utility relocation, drainage, signage, paving, and pavement marking.

Construction planning includes a 45-day closure of Trent Ave. between North Fiske Street and East Desmet Avenue, to construct the roundabout. After the roundabout is constructed, Trent Avenue will reopen to traffic with minor nighttime closures as the bridge elements are placed over Trent Avenue. Construction will continue with the NSC mainline structures and is expected to begin at Mission Avenue and continue south to Alki Avenue. The City of Spokane streets of Cataldo Avenue, Syndicate Boulevard, and Ralph Street to Boone Avenue will be closed while they are reconstructed. The Ralph Street and Syndicate Boulevard closures are expected to last 2-3 years. There will be other short duration closures of City streets in the affected areas as overhead bridge work occurs. This order of work is subject to change.
