US 395 - NSC Spokane River to Columbia - Shared Use Path

The Garland bridge will temporarily reopen on Friday, July 12. The reopening will last approximately 6-8 weeks for contractor crews to refabricate the permanent barrier. Once fabrication is completed, crews will close the bridge for an additional two weeks to complete the work and reopen the bridge permanently.

Project overview

This project will extend the current Children of the Sun Trail from where it ends at Columbia Avenue south to Carlisle Avenue. This project is a design-build with the contractor as Graham Contracting. What to expect

The work at the Children of the Sun Trail will mainly occur away from any traffic impacts to the public.

While most work is off the roadway, the construction of several pedestrian bridges will cause restrictions at various east/west roadways including Euclid and Wellesley Avenue. Pedestrian bridge crossings at these roadways will likely have impacts on the roadway once the footings begin construction and girders are set over the roadway.
