Ferries accountability and service data

As part of our effort to improve accountability, Washington State Ferries posts on-time performance, ridership and farebox recovery data, as well as investigation reports.

On-time performance and ridership data dashboard

We maintain a data dashboard that provides public access to information regarding on-time performance and ridership. There you can find historical on-time performance data, daily ridership and ridership by sailing. Monthly reports for on-time performance, along with quarterly and annual ridership reports can be found below.

Farebox recovery

Our Route Statements For Fiscal Years 2018 to 2023 (PDF 4.1MB) report contains information regarding cost, ridership and revenue trends over the past five years. The route statements appearing after the analysis show ridership, revenue and cost data for each route, culminating in a "farebox recovery ratio," or what percentage of the route's total costs are paid for by customer fares.
