A Black bear and numerous Coyotes have been seen crossing the runway. Please practice safe camping and keep pets on a leash and close by.
The airport has been posted no-trespassing as we have had problems with neighbors letting pets run free causing sanitary and safety concerns for aircraft operations.

Available information for airport
Located just east of the town of Skykomish, it is one of the very best turf airports around. Within one mile you can find food, lodging, and a quaint small town atmosphere. The large aircraft parking area is suitable to facilitate club fly-ins. Glider operations and occasional forest fire fighting activities may occur in the summer. A neighborhood caretaker keeps the 2,050 turf runway mowed though out the spring and summer. The 100 foot wide runway is marked with edge reflectors. There are camping facilities and an outdoor toilet.
Trees surround the airport however recent airport developments include removing trees back from the airport sides. Trees are tall on the west end. The field elevation is estimated at 1,002 feet. Hot weather can present some density altitude problems. The runway retains water extremely well and is very soft when wet. The runway is slightly rough and has a slight uphill slope to the east. The airport is generally open by June 1st to October 1st.
This airport has been adopted by the Washington Pilots Association, Paine Field Chapter.
