BAINBRIDGE ISLAND – A project to build two roundabouts on State Route 305 on Bainbridge Island is nearing completion.

Construction crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation have finished two new roundabouts along SR 305 at Adas Will Lane and West Port Madison Road/Seabold Road.

Fish barrier, begone! Critical salmon run near State Route 305 now open for fish migration

BAINBRIDGE ISLAND – A 16-month effort to remove and replace a barrier to fish migration on State Route 305 on Bainbridge Island is now complete.

Contractor crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation recently wrapped up work at Murden Creek, an important salmon run for Bainbridge Island. The work improves access to 1.5 miles of potential fish habitat in Murden Creek, a tributary that flows into Murden Cove.

Fish barrier removal work begins Oct. 9 on SR 305 in Suquamish

SUQUAMISH – People traveling on State Route 305 should take note as a new fish barrier removal project is set to kick off between Poulsbo and Bainbridge Island.

Construction begins Monday, Oct. 9, on the 18-month project to correct barriers to fish migration at Sam Snyder Creek. The creek runs beneath SR 305 just north and west of Totten Road in Suquamish.

Slow down on ice and snow.

It's easier to skid or lose control traveling at higher speeds. Give yourself more time to stop.

Carry chains, practice installing them.

Winter conditions could mean chains are required on your route. Practice putting them on your vehicle ahead of time.

Pack your winter car kit.

Carry extra supplies like warm clothing, ice scraper and brush, jumper cables and other emergency items.
