Last section of northbound SR 167 HOV lane now open near Sumner
SUMNER – There is good news for travelers who use northbound State Route 167 from Puyallup to Sumner. This morning, Thursday, Feb. 16, the final half-mile section of the new northbound State Route 167 high occupancy vehicle (HOV) lane opened.
Overnight Wednesday, Feb. 15, Graham Contracting, LTD crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation finished installing the remaining drainage and removed the work zone barrier to open the lane.
WSDOT provides I-405/SR 167 project updates via virtual meeting with Executive Advisory Group
BELLEVUE – The public is invited to attend a virtual meeting with the I-405/SR 167 Corridor Program Executive Advisory Group.
Washington State Department of Transportation Secretary Roger Millar and the project team will provide updates on active and future construction, the program’s current financial outlook, the funding and tolling delivery process, and other program-related information including partnership updates from Sound Transit.

UPDATE: The lane closures originally scheduled for Tuesday, July 26 have been rescheduled to Friday, July 29 after contractor crews identified necessary prep work. Contractor crews will close and shift lanes between 9 p.m. Friday, July 29, and 9 a.m. Saturday, July 30.
Community voices needed to plan the future of SR 167
KENT – The public is invited to provide input on future improvements to State Route 167. Travel along the often-congested highway could be transformed through transportation investments that consider the needs of fast-growing communities along the corridor.
Slow down on ice and snow.
It's easier to skid or lose control traveling at higher speeds. Give yourself more time to stop.
Carry chains, practice installing them.
Winter conditions could mean chains are required on your route. Practice putting them on your vehicle ahead of time.
Pack your winter car kit.
Carry extra supplies like warm clothing, ice scraper and brush, jumper cables and other emergency items.
