What to expect

WSDOT will work to keep people moving while crews replace five outdated culverts. New structures that allow fish to access spawning and rearing habitat will replace the culverts.

US 101 locations with temporary bypass lanes and around-the-clock alternating traffic:

  • Near Wisen Creek Road at milepost 209.3
  • South of the Jefferson-Clallam county line at milepost 182.2
  • South of the Jefferson-Clallam county line at milepost 181.2

Travelers will see daytime alternating traffic at two more sites. The two sites are located near Ruby Beach. Once temporary bypass lanes are complete, around-the-clock alternating traffic will go into effect:

  • Starting Thursday, July 25 at milepost 171.3 and milepost 169.5

In fall 2024, US 101 will return to two lanes at each site. The Wisen Creek location in Clallam County will have additional work in summer 2025.
