Project overview
This summer, construction crews working for WSDOT repaired and replaced worn sections of asphalt on SR 7. The work zone was broken up into two areas. The first was from the intersection of SR 507 near Joint Base Lewis-McChord, to 169th Street. Crews paved the northbound right lane only. The second area began north of SR 512 to South 38th Street in Tacoma. Here, crews paved both the northbound and southbound right lanes on SR 7. The work took place at night when traffic volumes are lower.
What to expect
This project began June 7 and reached substantial completion on Aug. 3. Travelers saw overnight lane closures Monday through Friday. One lane of traffic in each direction remained open at night during the work on SR 7. No detour was needed. WSDOT would like to thank nearby businesses and residents for your patience while we performed this preservation work on SR 7.
