Project overview
In fall 2023, we added 4 feet of width to a sidewalk along northbound State Route 525/Mukilteo Speedway in Mukilteo to make it 7.5 feet wide on a bridge over the BNSF railroad tracks. We also added new ADA-compliant curb ramps and upgraded the railing between Second and First streets.

What to expect
Major construction is complete.
The sidewalk was widened to 7.5 feet along northbound State Route 525 on a bridge over BNSF railroad tracks in Mukilteo.
The sidewalk is an important route for pedestrians and others using mobility devices to cross BNSF railroad tracks to reach the Mukilteo Ferry Terminal, Lighthouse Park and other waterfront businesses in the area. The old sidewalk was approximately 3.5 feet wide and did not meet ADA standards.
