Project overview
In summer 2023 contactor crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation resurfaced a nearly 2.5 mile stretch of SR 432 between milepost 7.19 near Industrial Way and milepost 7.19 near the Cowlitz River, in Longview, WA. Crews also resurfaced several off- and on-ramps along this stretch of highway, restriped lane markings and fog lines and installed new guideposts.

Serving roughly 31,000 vehicles a day, this nearly 2.5 mile stretch of highway was last paved 18 years ago, in 2005. Over time, a combination of traffic and weather conditions caused significant potholes, rutting and cracking to the road. This resurfacing work helped extend the useful life of the road, creating a smoother, safer driving surface and reducing potential emergency closures and repairs for many years to come.
