Project overview
This project improves safety along State Route 26 in Whitman County by installing shoulder rumble strips. There is a documented history of fatal and serious injury, single-vehicle, run-off-the-road crashes at these locations. Engineering analysis indicates that the installation of shoulder rumble strips is effective at reducing these types of crashes. Edgeline rumble strips provide a visible retro-reflective notice to drivers and tactile notice when they are encountered.
