SR 104 - SR 19 - Intersection Safety Improvements

Project overview

In an effort to improve safety and reduce collision severity, WSDOT will construct a single-lane metered roundabout at State Route 104 and SR 19 (Beaver Valley Road). Roundabouts are a proven solution to reduce head-on collisions while maintaining a consistent flow of traffic. Improvements will also be made for those who walk or roll near the location as well.

What to expect

During construction, travelers can expect reduce speed limits, shifted lanes and temporary lane closures as crews build the roundabout in phases. Crews will maintain one-lane in both directions during construction. Any highway closures will be announced in advance.

Travelers should be prepared for unannounced SR 104 Hood Canal Bridge openings due to Department of Defense or other military vessels and plan accordingly.

A metered roundabout is planned for SR 104/Beaver Valley Road (SR 19) to improve safety and reduce collisions near the Hood Canal Bridge.
