What to expect

Due to environmental permitting delays, this project, along with the SR 104 - SR 19 - Intersection Safety Improvements project, will be constructed in 2024.

During construction, travelers can expect a temporary reduced speed limit, shifted lanes and intermediate lane closures as crews build the roundabout in phases. Flaggers may be present at times. Please remember to slow down in work zones and watch for road crews. Crews will maintain one-lane in both directions as much as possible. Any highway closures will be announced in advance.

Travelers should be prepared for unannounced SR 104 Hood Canal Bridge openings due to Department of Defense or other military vessels and plan accordingly.

Beginning in late spring 2024, contractor crews will start construction of a metered roundabout at Shine Road and Paradise Bay Road for improved safety.
