Passes

Find out how frequent commuters can get discounted tickets by purchasing multi-use or monthly passes.

Discounted passes are available on all routes except for sailings to and from Sidney, British Columbia. Passes can be purchased at the terminals and are printed on a single ticket, which can be discarded after all rides are used. You can also buy passes online and print them at home or use them on a mobile device.

Before purchasing a pass, please make sure that you will be able to use enough rides to receive a discount, as expired unused rides cannot be refunded at the discounted rate. If you are unable to use up all of the rides on a ticket, it may still be beneficial to buy a pass if you use enough rides to receive a discount over the single fares.

Multi-use passes

Passengers

Passenger multi-use passes include 10 round-trip rides on all routes except Port Townsend/Coupeville, which has 20 round trips. Offers up to a 20% discount on passenger fares if all rides on the pass are used. Passenger fares are not subject to the peak season surcharge, so the discount over single fares is the same year round. Valid for 90 days from the date of purchase.

Vehicles

Good for 10 roundtrips on all routes except Anacortes/San Juan Islands route, which have five roundtrips. Discount depends on route and season. During the off-peak season (Oct. 1 to April 30), passes provide up to a 20-25% discount if all rides are used. During the peak season (May 1 to Sept. 30), passes can provide up to a 35-45% discount if all rides are used. Valid for 90 days from the date of purchase.

Motorcycles

Available on all routes. Good for 10 round trips.

Due to different fare collection points for vehicles and passengers on each route, the number of rides on each ticket will vary to achieve 10 roundtrips on a multi-use ticket. For example, most routes collect fares both ways for vehicles, but only one way for passengers. A vehicle pass on one of these routes will have 20 rides and the passenger pass will have 10 rides so that each has the same number of round trips. On routes where vehicle and passenger fares are collected one way, both the vehicle and passenger passes will have 10 rides.

Monthly passes

Passengers

Available on all routes except Anacortes/San Juan Islands. Good for up to 31 roundtrips and valid during the calendar month. Discount is determined by frequency of use. A discount over single fares is achieved if a minimum of 13 round trips are used in a calendar month. These passes cannot be shared and are intended for a single user.

Vehicles

There are no monthly passes for vehicles. Customers who travel frequently should purchase vehicle multi-use tickets.

ReValue Card

You can also buy a ReValue Card online. When you purchase one of these cards, it will be mailed to you ready to use. Once all of the rides on the pass are used, the credit card saved to your account will be automatically charged and another set of rides will be immediately available. A multi-use ReValue Card will automatically refill after 90 days if all the rides are not used. A monthly ReValue Card replenishes on the first of each calendar month.

Suspending or cancelling refills

If there is a period where you will not be traveling as often, you may choose to stop future refills until you are ready to use the ReValue Card again. If you no longer wish to use the card in the future, you can cancel all future refills. Once a card is canceled, it cannot be reactivated. When you suspend or cancel credit card refills, it does not suspend or cancel any remaining rides on the card. Any rides left on a multi-use Revalue Card will be available for use for 90 days after latest purchase and any rides left on a monthly ReValue Card will be available for use for the remainder of the calendar month.

Lost or damaged cards

If you lose your ReValue Card or the barcode becomes unreadable, we can reprint the cards for you. Contact us if you need your card reprinted. Once we reprint a card, your current card can no longer be used to prevent unauthorized use. Your history and any remaining rides will be transferred to the new card.

Senior and disability fares

Senior and disability fares can be purchased at the terminal each time you travel at half the regular passenger rate when proof of age or disability is provided. A senior or disability Revalue Card does not offer any additional discount but provides the convenience of providing proof of eligibility one time on your initial purchase and five rides loaded on each replenishment. Each set of five rides is valid for 90 days from the date of purchase, so if you do not travel frequently, you may want to purchase your ticket at the terminal each time you travel. ORCA card

Frequent commuters can also use an ORCA card to purchase and use multi-use (passenger fares only) and monthly passes. You can also pay for any of our fares (including vehicles and motorcycles) using funds loaded to an ORCA card’s e-purse. We do not accept ORCA’s regional day or monthly passes as payment for any of our fares.

Slow down on ice and snow.

It's easier to skid or lose control traveling at higher speeds. Give yourself more time to stop.

Carry chains, practice installing them.

Winter conditions could mean chains are required on your route. Practice putting them on your vehicle ahead of time.

Pack your winter car kit.

Carry extra supplies like warm clothing, ice scraper and brush, jumper cables and other emergency items.
