Needs & benefits

Both scale pits are seeing some fatigue due to the settling of the foundation and expansion of adjacent pavement. This project will rehabilitate each scale, platform, and surrounding pavement to preserve the function and operation of the weigh station.

This project is set to go to ad on Sept. 8. This project will create the first new lanes of the North Spokane Corridor south of the Spokane River.

The project was awarded to Central Washington Asphalt on April 20.

Needs & benefits

The project will rehabilitate the existing pavement by grinding and paving the top 0.15ft of asphalt; lanes and shoulders. There will be single lane and shoulder closures. Ramps to SR 26 may be closed for short intermittent times as the construction operations travel through the on and off-ramp merge points. 

Timeline

Construction began on July 13.

Needs & benefits

Several sections of the roadway will be chip sealed to rehabilitate the pavement to preserve and maintain the pavement structure. 

I-90 - Salnave Rd. to BNSF RR Bridge - Paving - Complete July 2020

Project was awarded to Shamrock Paving on April 20. Work began on June 1 and was completed in early July.

Needs & benefits

This project will rehabilitate nearly 5 miles of Interstate 90 in both directions by grinding out the current pavement and inlaying new HMA (Hot Mix Asphalt) on the roadway to create a smoother ride.

Reduce the risk and severity of run off the road collisions throughout the highway corridor by removing vertical rock cuts and outcrops from the median or by shielding the rock with a barrier.
