Needs & benefits

The pavement conditions within the limits of the project have fallen below an acceptable rating. This project will rehabilitate the roadway along this section to preserve the pavement and pavement structure. During construction, crews will be working at night to limit impacts to the traveling public. During overnight hours one lane of travel will remain open. Drivers can expect ramp closures and reduced speeds throughout the duration of the project.

Asphalt in this section of I-90 between the Tokio interchange and Lincoln County Line has reached the end of its usable lifecycle. This project will rehabilitate roughly 8 miles of Interstate 90 in both directions by grinding out the current pavement and inlaying new HMA (Hot Mix Asphalt) on the roadway to create a smoother ride.

SPOKANE – People can now comment on the North Spokane Corridor Air Quality Discipline Report. This report documents the air quality, energy and greenhouse gas (GHG) analyses completed for the 2020 reevaluation of the North Spokane Corridor project in the section from Carlisle Avenue south, across the Spokane River, to I-90. Comments on the report will be accepted starting today, July 27, to Aug. 25.
