Getting Started - What you need to know to be Good To Go!

A Good To Go! account is the cheapest and easiest way to pay tolls in Washington. With an account, your tolls will be paid automatically without having to stop at a toll booth or worry about bills in the mail. Go online to or call us at 1-866-936-8246 to set up an account today, and we’ll even lower your outstanding unpaid toll bills when you ask.

Good To Go! is managed by the Washington State Department of Transportation and accounts work on every toll road in Washington. Here’s a map of all the toll locations and information on toll rates.

Choosing a Good To Go! pass
There are a few Good To Go! pass options, depending on how and where you drive.

  • Most people choose a sticker pass. It costs $5 plus tax and works to pay tolls everywhere in Washington.
  • If you want to carpool for free on the I-405 express toll lanes or SR 167 HOT lanes, you should get a Flex Pass. It costs $15 plus tax and works to carpool and pay tolls everywhere.
  • If you add a car to your account without buying a Good To Go! pass for it, you’ll be charged an extra 25-cent photo enforced fee on every toll trip.

Still unsure which pass is right for you? Use our Choose a Pass helper.

Where to get a pass

Most people order their Good To Go! pass while they’re setting up their account. If you order directly from Good To Go! it will be mailed to you ready to use.

If you need your pass right away, you can buy some kinds of passes in some participating Fred Meyer or QFC retail locations. To activate a store-bought pass, you’ll need to link it to an account. You’ll have the chance to do that when you create your account, or you can do it later.

Create a Good To Go! account

When you open your account on, you can either open a prepaid account and deposit $30 to cover future tolls and passes, or a Pay As You Go account where tolls are charged to your credit card twice a month. Learn more about Good To Go! account basics and payment options

What about visitors and rental cars?

We have several options for visitors and infrequent drivers including temporary accounts or the option for your hosts to add you to their own account. But if you’re using a rental car or rideshare app be sure to check your terms and conditions before using a toll road, because the they each have different policies and sometimes have extra fees which we have no control over.

Paying without an account

If you do not want to set up an account you can choose to Pay By Mail, except on the SR 167 HOT lanes. You don’t need to do anything in advance; we’ll take a photo of your license plate and mail you a bill within a month. You'll be billed an additional $2 per trip, so Pay By Mail only makes sense if you rarely use toll roads.

Remember, you can still lower unpaid toll bills after you get them in the mail by opening an account when you pay the bill online, or by calling us to set up a new account and asking to move the trips onto your account.

The only road in Washington that still has toll booths is the Tacoma Narrows Bridge. Paying at the toll booth costs $1 more than paying with a Good To Go! pass.
