sUAS User’s Manual
The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) plans to implement the use of Small Unmanned Aircraft System (sUAS) for several of its programs in support of its mission “to be the best in providing a sustainable and integrated multimodal transportation system.” In order to ensure public safety, employee safety and regulatory compliance, while carrying out sUAS activities, WSDOT has developed this sUAS User’s Manual. This manual is designed to address the most common sUAS activities, and applies to all sUAS activities conducted by WSDOT personnel or contractors during the course of their job duties.
