WSDOT has identified the US 12 and SR 7 for safety improvements.
Purpose
Between the years 2015 to 2019 a total of 10 crashes have occurred at this intersection. Several of these crashes have involved serious injury. The goal of the project is to address the targeted types of crashes and their severity without hindering mobility through the intersection. Lower speeds and fewer conflict points at the intersection would lower potential for fatal and serious crashes.
WSDOT sought input from the community to incorporate into the US 12 to SR 7 Intersection Improvements project. Community members who live or work in the area, as well as the travelling public were invited to complete a survey August 15- September 15th so that needs can be identified. There will be more information shared after the design study. Safety was identified as a priority to reduce fatal and serious injury crashes at the intersection.
