US 101 - West Jefferson County - Remove Fish Barriers - Complete August 2022

Project overview

This project removed barriers to fish at Steamboat Creek, Harlow Creek and Fisher Creek. New bridges carry US 101 over each creek. The improvements helps improve access to fish habitat.

What to expect

All temporary traffic signals were removed and the project finished in August 2022.

 

 

 

US 101 at Fisher Creek in west Jefferson County.

This work is part of WSDOT’s Fish Passage Barrier Removal Program, which identifies and removes barriers to fish caused by culverts under state highways.

WSDOT works in partnership with the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife to identify culverts that, once replaced, will increase fish habitat.
