Field biologists have identified three outdated culverts at Steamboat Creek, Harlow Creek and Fisher Creek under US 101 as barriers to fish migration. All three culverts are in need of correction. This project replaces the three culverts with concrete girder bridges to help improve spawning for salmon and other resident fish.
What to expect
US 101 at all three locations has been restored to two-way travel. Work will resume in spring 2022 for final stream improvement efforts.
Travelers should expect minor delays and reduced speeds until work is complete. Any roadway closures will be announced in advance.
