US 101/Quinault Indian Nation - Remove Fish Barriers (PDB1 B3)

Starting Tuesday, May 27, expect temporary traffic signals and single-lane alternating traffic around the clock on US 101 near Queets. The work zones are located between milepost 135 and milepost 153. The speed limit will be reduced to 25 mph through the work zones.

What to expect

In May 2025, crews will prepare six work zones for fish passage work along US 101 on the Quinault Indian Nation. The work zones are located between milepost 135 and milepost 153 near Queets.

Starting Tuesday, May 27, travelers will see temporary traffic signals alternating travelers on a single lane around the clock through fall. The speed limit on US 101 will be reduced to 25 mph from 60 mph at the following locations: 

  • milepost 152.25 to milepost 152.72
  • milepost 142.15 to milepost 142.90
  • milepost 137.12 to milepost 137.51
  • milepost 134.99 to milepost 135.89

This project removes barriers to fish at six locations along US 101 between Lake Quinault and just north of the Queets River.
