Project overview
Portions of the State Route 526 corridor will be improved with construction of an eastbound lane between Hardeson Road/5th Ave NW and I-5, improved signal operations at the SR 526/527 intersection and new ramp meters from eastbound SR 526 to northbound I-5. Work includes roadway widening in several locations, repaving, removal and replacement of median and shoulder barriers and guardrails, re-striping and intersection modifications, signal and illumination modifications, noise and retaining walls, landscape, drainage, and runoff treatment and detention.
What to expect
Highway users should expect overnight lane and ramp closures when construction begins in 2025.
This project will add a new eastbound lane on SR 526 between Seaway Boulevard and I-5, ramp meters to northbound I-5 and improve traffic signal operations at I-5/SR 526/SR 527.
