SR 522 - I-5 to 61st Ave NE - Paving & ADA Compliance

Project overview

WSDOT contractor crews will repave sections of SR 522, commonly known as Lake City Way or Northeast Bothell Way, which were last paved in 2002.

Spring 2020 to Summer 2022
Project status
$15 Million

What to expect

Travelers should expect nightly lane closures for both directions of SR 522 between the hours of 9 p.m. and 4:30 a.m. In addition, there will be some single lane daytime closures between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Traffic will at times be shifted to either the westbound or eastbound lanes of SR 522 and both directions will each use a lane.

Crews will be adding permanent striping throughout the project area and finishing work on installing curbs and sidewalks.

More information about lane closures will be posted as they become available.

In addition to repaving sections of SR 522, WSDOT is working with the Seattle Department of Transportation to make pedestrian improvements at four locations along the highway, including new crosswalks and crossing signals, new sidewalks and improved curb ramps to provide better sidewalk connections for people of all abilities.
