SR 520 148th Ave NE interchange - Overlake Access Ramp

Project overview

With this Connecting Washington project, we will relocate the existing eastbound SR 520 ramp to south 148th Avenue Northeast in Redmond and add a new eastbound ramp to the Overlake Village area.

What to expect

During construction, people traveling in the area should expect closures and lane reductions on the off-ramp from eastbound SR 520 to 148th Avenue Northeast. There will be lane reductions on 148th Avenue as our contractor, Granite Construction, builds a tunnel under the roadway and creates new city street connections to improve access to the Overlake Village area.

We are finished building the tunnel beneath 148th and will realign traffic to its final configuration during a full weekend closure of the eastbound SR 520 ramps and 148th June 23-26. Crews will continue building the new on-ramp, finish work on the roundabouts and new city streets: Northeast Hopper Street, Lumiere Avenue and Northeast Shen Street.

Work is expected to be complete in fall 2023.

On eastbound SR 520 exit to 148th Avenue Northeast, we will realign the existing ramp and add a ramp underneath 148th  to the Overlake Village area.
