During 2017, the Washington State Department of Transportation completed a congestion study along State Route 162 in 2017.  In 2018, a congestion study of the interchange was completed. As a result, we will replace the existing intersections roundabouts. A roundabout is planned on each side of the overpass.

Spring 2024 
WSDOT attended an open house hosted by the City of Sumner. WSDOT answered questions about the project's benefits, timeline and construction schedule. 

Fall 2023
WSDOT held an online open house discussing this project. The online open house provided an opportunity to provide feedback on proposed improvements.
