SR 18 between I-90 and Issaquah-Hobart Road to close for annual maintenance work July 21-23

SNOQUALMIE – Both directions of State Route 18 will close for annual maintenance the weekend of July 21-23.

Beginning at 9 p.m. Friday, July 21, through noon Sunday, July 23, SR 18 will close to eastbound and westbound traffic between Interstate 90 near Snoqualmie and Issaquah-Hobart Road Southeast in Hobart.

Washington State Department of Transportation maintenance crews will perform several tasks during this closure, including drainage cleaning, clearing line of sight, guardrail repair and temporary patches for potholes. Contractors for construction projects in the area also will perform work during this closure, including drilling and surveying.

SR 18 detour

A signed detour will guide people around the SR 18 closure using SR 169, I-405 and I-90.

Several events are planned for the Puget Sound area during this weekend and will bring increased traffic to the region. WSDOT asks people to use alternate routes, plan ahead for increased traffic on several routes in the area and allow extra time to safely arrive at their destinations.

Updated real-time information about closures and incidents is available on WSDOT’s mobile app, the real-time travel map or by following the WSDOT Traffic Twitter account.
