Overnight bridge paving to close northbound I-405 in Kirkland April 29; additional nightly lane reductions planned through May 5

All northbound traffic will use Northeast 85th Street collector-distributor

KIRKLAND – Four nights of bridge deck repairs kick off on Saturday, April 29, with a closure of northbound Interstate 405 in Kirkland. During the overnight closure, all traffic will shift to the Northeast 85th Street collector/distributor. Work on southbound I-405 in both Kirkland and Bothell is scheduled to begin Sunday, April 30, with the interstate reduced overnight to a single lane.

This weather-dependent work will repair the driving surfaces on three bridges damaged by winter weather in 2021-22. It represents the final major portion of the Northwest Region Emergency Pavement Repair project.

People traveling along I-405 in Kirkland and Bothell should expect slowdowns and congestion during the work.
