Expect congestion on SR 3 during airshow at Bremerton National Airport Aug. 19-20

Travelers encouraged to carpool, reschedule trips to reduce backups

BREMERTON – Travelers on State Route 3 between Gorst and Belfair should plan for increased daytime traffic Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 19-20.

An airshow at the Bremerton National Airport is expected to draw spectators from throughout the region. Congestion is expected on SR 3 during both days of the event.

Plan for longer travel times and occasional backups near the airport. The highest traffic volumes will occur before and after the event each day.

Keep people moving

Drivers can help keep everyone moving by traveling during non-peak times, consider rescheduling non-essential trips, carpooling or using other alternative modes of transportation.

Travelers can get highway information at 530 AM and 1610 AM. Real-time traffic information is  available on the WSDOT app and travel center map.

Slow down – lives are on the line.

In 2023, speeding continued to be a top reason for work zone crashes.

Even one life lost is too many.

Fatal work zone crashes doubled in 2023 - Washington had 10 fatal work zone crashes on state roads.

It's in EVERYONE’S best interest.

95% of people hurt in work zones are drivers, their passengers or passing pedestrians, not just our road crews.
