Online open house highlights a busy 2022 construction season on I-90 from North Bend to Ellensburg

SNOQUALMIE PASS – Cross-state travelers will need to add extra travel time to their trips this summer, and fall. The Washington State Department of Transportation and construction crews will be busy improving sections Interstate 90 from North Bend to Ellensburg. Approximately seven construction projects through multiple construction areas are slated for 2022 through this 75-mile corridor. Delays will primarily occur weekdays. During summer weekends, there are delays as well due to traffic increases on Sundays.

Highway users can learn more about the construction and how it will affect cross-state travel by visiting WSDOT’s online open house.

Slow down – lives are on the line.

In 2023, speeding continued to be a top reason for work zone crashes.

Even one life lost is too many.

Fatal work zone crashes doubled in 2023 - Washington had 10 fatal work zone crashes on state roads.

It's in EVERYONE’S best interest.

95% of people hurt in work zones are drivers, their passengers or passing pedestrians, not just our road crews.
