Mason County: Online open house for two roundabouts planned for SR 3 at Deer Creek

BAYSHORE – Beginning Wednesday, March 23, community members can learn more about safety improvements on State Route 3 in Mason County during an online open house.

Two new single-lane roundabouts will replace stop signs at two intersections – East Agate Road and East Pickering Road.

Feedback during the online open house will help with the final design of the roundabouts. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2024.

Roundabouts help reduce the potential for crashes while keeping people moving. WSDOT routinely reviews intersections in rural areas on the state highway system to find ways to reduce potential collisions.

Slow down – lives are on the line.

In 2023, speeding continued to be a top reason for work zone crashes.

Even one life lost is too many.

Fatal work zone crashes doubled in 2023 - Washington had 10 fatal work zone crashes on state roads.

It's in EVERYONE’S best interest.

95% of people hurt in work zones are drivers, their passengers or passing pedestrians, not just our road crews.
