LONGVIEW – Travelers using State Route 433 Lewis and Clark Bridge connecting Longview and Rainier, Oregon will need to plan ahead, expect extra congestion during nighttime commutes and prepare for a lengthy detour as this five-week repair project begins next week.

LONGVIEW – People who travel across the Lewis and Clark Bridge are invited to share how and when they use the span to help the Washington State Department of Transportation plan for a six-day closure of the bridge in 2023 for important preservation work.

Slow down on ice and snow.

It's easier to skid or lose control traveling at higher speeds. Give yourself more time to stop.

Carry chains, practice installing them.

Winter conditions could mean chains are required on your route. Practice putting them on your vehicle ahead of time.

Pack your winter car kit.

Carry extra supplies like warm clothing, ice scraper and brush, jumper cables and other emergency items.
