Project overview
In 2020 and 2021, contractor crews will repair the bridge decks on nearly two dozen structures along US 2 between the area west of Index (Proctor Creek/Big Bend) and Skykomish (Tye River vicinity).

What to expect
Most of the work will happen during single lane closures with alternating one-way traffic. Traffic holds may last up to 20 minutes. Several of the bridges are very narrow at just 24 feet wide and no shoulder. During lane closures, the open lane of travel may be just 10 or 11 feet wide. To protect workers and travelers in these narrow work zones, the speed limit may be reduced from 55 or 60 miles per hour to 10 miles per hour.
Bridge repairs on US 2 will occur between the area west of Index and Skykomish.
