What to expect

WSDOT is in the design phase for a project which will replace the two bridges that cross the North Fork Palouse River on SR 26 and US 195 with a single bridge that will be large enough to accommodate wide loads, heavy truck traffic, passenger vehicle volumes and a shared use path.

The design team has made a decision on the intersection control alternative that will be used to manage traffic with a single bridge as opposed to two separate bridges. Images of the design draft can be viewed under the maps and drawings tab for review.

Complete streets will also be incorporated into the design of the new intersection and bridge to ensure that all modes of transportation are more efficient, accessible, safe, more economical and sustainable. A Shared Use Path will allow for pedestrian and bicycle traffic through the completed project.
