Project overview
Crews working for WSDOT will texture the existing concrete pavement of the north and southbound State Route 99 tunnel. The technique of shot-blasting the roadway will provide added friction for vehicles’ tires and improve traction.

What to expect
During construction, crews will shot-blast the road surface. Work will primarily be at night. Throughout the project, travelers can expect directional closures of the SR 99 tunnel.
This project will texture the pavement in both directions of the SR 99 tunnel in downtown Seattle.
