SR 105 – Graveyard Spit Project - Dynamic Revetment and Dune Restoration

Project overview

Starting in summer 2025, crews will work to protect Graveyard Spit, a shoreline along SR 105 between the Shoalwater Bay Reservation (milepost 19.5) and Panoramic Lane (milepost 20.10). The project will shield the community from coastal erosion, climate change, and rising sea levels while preserving habitat for endangered wildlife. Plans include raising the dune and building a wave-absorbing barrier that mimics a natural cobble beach. These efforts will stop further erosion and restore critical habitat in the area.

What to expect

During construction, travelers may encounter occasional daytime, intermittent single-lane and shoulder closures. Nearby residents should expect some construction noise both day and night.

Crews will work to protect the shoreline along SR 105, just west of Raymond, between the Shoalwater Bay Reservation (milepost 19.5) and Panoramic Lane (milepost 20.10), in Pacific County, WA.
