Fresh pavement removes cracks and wheel ruts where water can collect. This gives drivers an improved ride especially when there is driving rain.
Repaving preserves the highway structure and reduces the potential for costly emergency repairs.
Expansion joints run across the width of the highway. The work will reduce the chances a joint will break and need for emergency closures.
