US 395 – Hatch Road to Hamilton Road – Paving

Project overview

This project will rehabilitate roughly nine lane miles of US 395 from Hatch Road to Hamilton Road in Spokane County. Once the project is completed by removing the surface of the existing pavement, repairing portions of the pavement through crack sealing, paving with Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA), and installing rumble strips, the roadway surface will have a smoother ride that will be preserved for years to come.

What to expect

Daytime work will take place between 6 a.m. and 8 p.m., Monday through Friday. During this time, drivers can expect single lane closures in either direction of US 395 throughout the duration of the project.

The Hatch Road interchange will also be repaved as part of this project. Work on the Hatch Road on and off-ramps will take place between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m., and require full closures with detours. Only one ramp, either northbound or southbound, will be closed at a time. All ramps will remain open to traffic between 6 a.m. and 8 p.m.

Detours

During Phase 1 of this project, the US 395 northbound off-ramp and southbound on-ramp at Hatch Road will be closed. Drivers who travel north on US 395 will need to exit Farwell Road then take a left turn toward Hastings Road. From there, drivers will turn right onto US 395/Division Street and head north to Wandermere Road. Drives will veer right onto Wandermere Road and head north to Hatch Road. Drivers who typically use the on-ramp to southbound US 395 from Hatch Road will need to travel south on Wandermere Road to US 395/Division Street. Drivers will take a left to continue south then turn left on Hastings Road toward Farwell Road where they can use the interchange to travel south on US 395.

During Phase 2 of this project, the US 395 northbound on-ramp and southbound off-ramp at Hatch Road will be closed. Drivers who need to travel north on US 395 will need to continue west on Hatch road, then turn right on Dartford Drive and go north to Monroe Road. From there, drivers can turn right and head toward US 395. Drivers on southbound US 395 who typically exit at Hatch Road will need to turn right on Monroe Road then make a left turn at Dartford Drive and head south to Hatch Road.

A speed reduction of 45 mph will be in place throughout the work zone until project completion.
