What to expect

To minimize traffic backups and delays, construction work took place on weeknights between 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Travelers encountered single and double lane closures and occasional rolling slowdowns. For increased safety, the speed limit within the work zone was temporarily reduced to 55 mph until construction was completed.

To minimize delays and enhance work zone safety, crews installed a temporary Smart Work Zone System. Using sensor technology, the system gave travelers real-time traffic information by analyzing roadway conditions as they approached the work zone. This helped increase safety and allowed people to make safer, more efficient driving choices as they traveled along the highway.
