Design documentation (PDF 4.54MB) and design analysis training (PDF 10.5MB) are available from your Assistant State Design Engineer covering the design documentation process and how to write a design analysis. WSDOT employees can access The Learning Center on insideDOT for the next available class.
Consultant training
Project Management elearning has video courses of Change Management, Negotiation Essentials, and Risk Management.
The following video courses are also available for credit in the Learning Center for WSDOT Staff:
- WSDOT Constructability in Design promotes the importance of creating designs that are buildable, biddable, and maintainable.
- WSDOT Quality Management is focused on design-bid-build and offers practical advice and guidance, along with suggestions on project quality steps: Planning, Control, Assurance and Verification.
- WSDOT Contract Specification Writing course modules is an introduction to WSDOT Special Provisions – which are Contract Provisions and Project-specific Provisions that are part of the Contract for design-bid-build projects.
- WSDOT Contract Review OLT explains basic WSDOT contract plans review principles.

Slow down on ice and snow.
It's easier to skid or lose control traveling at higher speeds. Give yourself more time to stop.
Carry chains, practice installing them.
Winter conditions could mean chains are required on your route. Practice putting them on your vehicle ahead of time.
Pack your winter car kit.
Carry extra supplies like warm clothing, ice scraper and brush, jumper cables and other emergency items.
