Update: Nighttime speed reduction and lane closures for fuel cleanup on southbound I-5 in Lacey wrap up

Lane closures and reduced speed limit lifted

UPDATE: Crews have finished removing contaminated soil on southbound I-5 in Lacey.

LACEY – Cleanup from a recent tanker truck spill brought delays to overnight and early morning travelers on southbound Interstate 5 in Thurston County.

Starting Sunday, April 23, crews closed lanes and reduced speeds to remove soil contaminated with diesel fuel along the roadway on southbound I-5 between mileposts 109.75 and 110.10 near Northeast Carpenter Road in Lacey.

Update: Overnight ramp closures, detours at I-5/SR 18 interchange May 3-5 and May 2 on SR 509

UPDATE: Work rescheduled for week of May 1

FEDERAL WAY – Evening travelers in south King County should add additional time or adjust routes the week of May 1 for ramp and/or lane closures in two locations, including State Route 509 and the Interstate 5/State Route 18 interchange in Federal Way.

Weekend-long northbound I-5 lane reductions in Lynnwood, April 7-10

First of many preservation projects to also close Alderwood Mall Boulevard

SHORELINE – The first of many highway preservation projects in King, Snohomish, Skagit and Whatcom counties will kick off in Lynnwood this weekend, April 7-10. Two lanes of northbound Interstate 5 at 44th Avenue and both directions of Alderwood Mall Boulevard will close for concrete bridge deck work.

Slow down on ice and snow.

It's easier to skid or lose control traveling at higher speeds. Give yourself more time to stop.

Carry chains, practice installing them.

Winter conditions could mean chains are required on your route. Practice putting them on your vehicle ahead of time.

Pack your winter car kit.

Carry extra supplies like warm clothing, ice scraper and brush, jumper cables and other emergency items.
