Project overview
These paving projects covered locations across seven communities in Kitsap, Mason, Thurston and Pierce counties. Crews repaved sections of damaged pavement on Interstate 5, US 101, state routes 3, 16, 410 and 512. Additional work included permanent striping, drainage repair and sign updates.
Pavement preservation work maintains the structural integrity of these sections of roadway for years to come.

Preservation work
Sections of several state highways showed signs of wear and tear. This included cracks, potholes and ruts. Grinding down the damaged surface of the roadway and laying fresh hot mix asphalt eliminates and helps prevent future potholes.
Repaving preserves the highway structure and reduces the potential for costly emergency repairs.
Crews also made repairs to the driving surfaces of bridges.
