Bridge deck concerns close two lanes of First Avenue South bridge in Seattle
SEATTLE – Two lanes of the northbound State Route 99 First Avenue South bridge over the Duwamish River are closed until further notice following a bridge inspection on Wednesday, Feb. 18, that identified concerns with the steel grid deck.
Nighttime full closures of US 101 south of Forks for slide repair begin Thursday, Feb. 19
FORKS – Emergency repair work is now underway to stabilize the slope beneath US 101 south of Forks in Jefferson County. Heavy rains in December caused a slide that damaged the roadway and embankment above the Bogachiel River.
Northbound I-5 returns to three lanes Friday, Feb. 20, near Stanwood
STANWOOD – The Interstate 5/Secret Creek Fish Passage project near Stanwood will reach a milestone Friday, Feb. 20, as northbound I-5 shifts back into its usual three-lane configuration.
I-405 and SR 522 closures in Bothell begin Feb. 20 to remove ramps and open space for I-405 expansion
BOTHELL – A visible shift is about to take place at the Interstate 405/State Route 522 Interchange in Bothell. Beginning Feb. 20, crews will start removing large flyover ramps that once carried northbound I-405 traffic to SR 522.

WSDOT Aviation accepting airport grant applications: Applications due March 6; $1.1 million to be distributed
OLYMPIA – The Washington State Department of Transportation Aviation Division is accepting applications for the second round of the 2025-2027 Airport Aid Grant Program. WSDOT anticipates awarding approximately $1.1 million in funding.
