Columbia River I-5 Bridge Planning Inventory - Document archive

Washington Legislature passed Substitute Senate Bill 5806 (PDF 63KB) during its 2017 session. This bill directed the Washington State Department of Transportation to inventory and document existing data related to the construction of a new Interstate 5 bridge over the Columbia River. WSDOT was tasked with delivering a report of this information by December 1, 2017.

The report, referenced documents and a repository of related documents from project development are provided on this site. The report details the comprehensive, broad based processes that identified the need, reviewed options and selected a preferred alternative for Interstate 5 improvements over the Columbia River and in surrounding segments. Additionally, the report summarizes the extensive technical work completed within the environmental process and in support of key permits.
