- GARDINER – The end of road work for fish passage is in sight for travelers on US 101 between Sequim and Gardiner. Wednesday, March 26, construction crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation opened a new bridge on US 101 east of Gardiner. The bridge is part of the Jefferson and Clallam counties fish barrier removal project. With the opening of the new bridge, the project is now more than half-way complete.
- SEATTLE – This summer, the Washington State Department of Transportation will take an important step on the Interstate 5 Yesler to Northgate project to preserve the aging I-5 Ship Canal Bridge. Working with its contractor Guy F. Atkinson Construction, WSDOT has identified approximately four weeks of critical construction activities in 2025 as the best way to complete the project by the end of the 2027 construction season.
- BELLINGHAM – A major effort to restore fish passage under both directions of Interstate 5 begins in late April between Bellingham and Burlington.
